"Newborns"

WOOOHOOO!

Yup, it's that time of year again.  The cold fronts have invaded from the north and have laid waste to every piece of water, flowing or still.  Ice and snow reign supreme in these here parts this time of year.  And so while the missus takes the young'uns out skiing and sledding, it's time for me to begin filling fly boxes!

Last year was a good year!  My usually robust stock of flies was seriously depleted by many a toothy predator.  I lost them first to the vicious pike and fanged walleye, and as spring turned to summer, rainbow and brown trout began to have their way!  Soon after, beautiful spotted cutthroat trout and the ever hungry bull trout raped my box, and then as fall was grimly losing it's grip, the pike and walleye circled back and shaved off the last few remnants.  And so it is here, in front of my "well organized" tying desk, that my ass shall find purchase for the next few months as the cycle of birth and death continues!
